Christian Lemmerz – Disegno

Christian Lemmerz er en af Danmarks største nulevende billedhuggere, men selv opfatter han sig også som tegner. Disegno er italiensk for tegning, og under den titel vises et udvalg af Lemmerz’ tegninger for første gang i bogformat sammen med affotograferinger af hans private skitsebøger. Teksten er baseret på række samtaler mellem Lemmerz, Therese Maria Gram og kunsthistoriker Marie Nipper. Lemmerz fortæller om sit forhold til tegningerne som selvstændige værker, hvordan de relaterer sig til hans billedhuggerpraksis, og hvordan han som kunstner forholder sig aktivt til kunsthistorien.

Christian Lemmerz is one of the greatest contemporary Danish sculptors, however, he also considers himself a draughtsman. Named Disegno, the Italian word for drawing, the book contains a selection of drawings by Lemmerz that, for the first time, are shown in the format of a book alongside new photographs of his private sketchbooks. The text is based on a number of conversations between Lemmerz, Therese Maria Gram, and art historian Marie Nipper. Here, Lemmerz talks about his relationship with the drawings as autonomous art works, how they are connected to his practice as a sculptor, and how he as an artist actively engages with art history.
