Along with The Little Mermaid and a number of other early fairytales, H. C. Andersen established his name as a highly original author when he was just in his early thirties. The story of the girl from the sea who followed her dreams and suffered a tragic fate on land is known all over the world – a statue of her has even become a kind of unofficial national symbol for Andersen’s home country, Denmark.
The Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has in our time reached a status which in her field commensurates with the fairytale writer. Once you get your eyes on it, it is unique/striking in which degree their universes and efforts as artists are similar. Together with the artist, we have chosen to let Kusama’s works from her series Love Forever surround the poet’s words. They lend each other new meanings as if they were meant for just that.
